Lake Anne Plaza in Reston, Virginia

So my boyfriend was living in the basement of his own town house with his estranged wife and their two boys. He moved out and got an apartment here in Reston. What a location too! A few minutes walk to Lake Anne Plaza. It was nice to wake up and walk through the very serene woods along the bike path, cross a small bridge over Lake Anne then just walk along the lake. The Coffee House has great coffee but a little pricey. This was the start of what became our hot spot area to chill, have drinks and listen to live bands at the Tavern on the Lake.

Moving in with my Boss!

So in an attempt to save money for our own home, my boss had invited my son and I to rent two rooms in their large beautiful home in South Riding, Virginia. It was a 20 minute drive back to Reston.

Bull Run Regional Park in Manassas, Virginia

Just a beautiful weekend. Perfect weather. We decided to try a differnt park than all the ones in Reston. We took the boys to Bull Run Regional Park, which I am familiar with from their Annual Virginia Wine Festivals. They had a huge playground but half of it was flooded. After sitting on the sidelines and watching other kids play on the dry parts... I kicked my shoes off and told the boys to do the same. What's a little standing water in a park filled with sand? Hahaha. The boys ran around, on the swings, on the see-saws, on the jungle gym... it was fun and we weren't even getting dirty. Other kids started to do the same and before you knew it, the whole park had live'nd up andthe kids were making friends. We had a great time nad got lots of gret pictures. When it was time to go home, my wagon had a dead battery. Good thing my boyfriend speaks spanish and was able to ask the hispanic family in the lot if they could jump us.
