Where do I begin? Let me start by telling you... "I HAVE FOUND MY JOB, MY APARTMENT, MY BOYFRIEND AND MY CAR ON CRAIGSLIST.ORG!!!!" Yup... the one stop shop online for broke ass people like me that want more out of life. It's fucking great!
It all started in September when I came back to Reston and didn't have the strength or motivation to get up and get out. I had cut off my acquantances, lost contact with my friends, had no job, no money, no house, no son, nothing! I had spent days online that turned into weeks. One by one, each day I made a little more effort to make things happen. My whole goal was to get back on my feet.
September - I had found a job that was willing to overlook my past, my credit and my mistakes. They hired me and promised me everything I ever wanted in a job and more. With a little time and energy... I have recieved just that.
I stumbled across the personals section. After spending a week in Fishersville and meeting my friends silly Aunt... she had opened my eyes to the 'personals'. What could it hurt to meet people and go out? I went through the guys posts and talked to some. Then I learned it was much easier to just post my own. I had made an ad to sell myself. Hahaha. It put up some things about me and somethings I look for in a guy. Little did I know... answering the responses were a job in its self. I went on blind dates and had my share of bad encounters.
I'm still in contact with some and some I still have to meet. But I met a couple that have turned out to mean a lot to me. One, in particular, had been more than I wanted, more than I imagined and more than I can handle. We have been across the country and back. We've been to the 'parents' house and back. We've been through some of the rough and some of the good. We have been through so much and may be loosing it all...
** this part gets sad or x-rated, so I'm going to cut it out for now**
December - Posted on CL that I was searching for another single parent to share housing expenses or to find something affordable. My prayer was answered and we now have a beautiful 2-BR basement apartment (that we don't have to share) in Centerville.
Well... since there aren't many buses... hell, just about none! I had to find some way to get to work.... I haven't had a license since 1999 or a car... so I had to get my drivers permit... practice with the company van... get my license... and so I went on CL again to find a super cheap car.... found some and told my boss. They had offered to loan me the money to get the car, get insurance, get it registered and not have to pay them back for six months! Now I'm driving again! First time in 7 years.
Now it's nearing the New Year! Four months of playing on www.craigslist.org and I can say that so many prayers and blessings have come my way. My son is now back home with me and each day is only getting better... with the exemption of the guy I almost gave my heart to and is lost in trying to find himself.
I strongly suggest that you check it out and see where it takes you. There's something for everyone and its worldwide.
