Sage Flowers is a unique, full-service flower shop that is owned by OAR, a local non-profit that has been working since 1974 to help inmates inside the Arlington County and Alexandria Detention Centers prepare for a successful reentry into our community.
The idea is simple: Rather than continue to depend exclusively upon contributions and grants, Sage Flowers will generate revenue for OAR from the sale of flowers. This new "social enterprise" approach is taking off throughout the country as a creative way to generate revenue for non-profits.
